Q.Do I need to get anything to complete this obstacle?
A. No, it comes complete. It simply "pops" together in under a minute.
Q."How easy is it to disassemble everything?"
A.Very easy. The base attaches to the board with a bar that goes through the plastic planks. The 3 pieces of the board are attached together with internal connecting pipes, and stay together with clips.
Q."How sturdy is it & will it be okay for my dog?"
A. Because the board is connected in 3 pieces, it does have some slight "flex" at the joining creases when weight is applied to it, though it will not break. Because it does flex a little, we have placed a general weight limit recommendation to about 60 lbs. It is a short teeter, only 12" high (as compared to 24" competition teeters, which is the height for all breeds) a 10" wide board (compared to 12" wide), and a 8' long board (as compared to 12' competition boards). So basically it doesn't have as steep an angle, nor the slam (noise) that a regular competition base has. For these reasons it is not recommended as the primary teeter of choice for those serious in the sport, because it doesn't really give the dog the feel of controlling a big teeter. This mini teeter has more of a dainty "pat" when the board hits the ground. It is great for teaching smaller dogs about the teeter-fulcrum balance point.
Q.Does it come in other colors?
A. It only comes in blue, with yellow contacts. The yellow contacts are required, but you can easily paint over the blue with any other color you'd like.
