The Metal ID Badge is made from aluminum. It is coated on both sides and then the ID information is baked into the finish using a sublimation process. This gives it a strong bonded finish.
The slot at the top allows you to: 1) You can hook it through the snap hook that is on many of our vests. 2) You can purchase a plastic & metal clip or split ring clip if you want to attach the ID to a bag, coat, collar, etc. 3) You can purchase a lanyard and hang the ID around your neck.
If it is a Service Dog ID, we will put the ADA information (American with Disabilities Act) on the back of the ID. This information addresses the issue of permitted access to public buildings. If it is for a Therapy Dog the ID will be double sided.
Service Dogs: A person must be legally disabled and their dog must perform a task for them. The handler has public access rights with a Service Dog and they are protected under Federal ADA Law, and are allowed access to public property with their Service Dog. Emotional Support Dogs:A person must have a note from a licensed mental health professional in order to legally have an ESA dog. These dogs provide an increased comfort level for their owner, particularly in social situations. These dogs do not have ADA public access rights but they are allowed to fly with their owners and qualify for no-pet housing. Therapy Dogs:A trained dog that meets the needs of others such as; visiting nursing homes, hospitals, schools, etc while doing pet therapy work. The handlers do not have ADA public access rights with Therapy Dogs and must have permission from an establishment to enter.
To send us your dog’s photo and your information, click on the blue ID Request Form at the bottom. Photo shots of your dog's head are best, but we will edit (as best we can) another photo. This card will be entered in the Activedog's Data Registry. Activedogs.com is not a certifying agency, nor do we accept any responsibility for information that you have us put on your ID badge.
We don't recommend putting the ID in a vinyl pocket.
Superb Customer Service!! I just wanted to re-rate this product, and Active Dogs as a company.
My first SDiT was a wash-out for several reasons. So I acquired a replacement for training and of course needed a new ID. The first one they sent was washed out and the image appeared overexposed and faded.
I sent an e-mail to customer service explaining the problem, as well as scanning a copy of my original ID and my new one for comparison. They were great about it and sent me a new ID!! I got it today and it looks beautiful!!
I'm still extremely pleased with this product, and am even more pleased with this company. They have wonderful products and are great and friendly to work with!

Wow! Beautiful! This ID is so wonderful. It's beautiful, very clear and easy to read, convenient compact size and really durable! I absolutely love it! My GSD has different equipment that we switch around depending on where we're going and what is needed. Not all of it has room for patches. So this is a great item that can be easily transferred to the current equipment to identify her even more clearly as a working dog. And best of all, it has the ADA info on the back, which is really helpful and convenient when running into business owners who are unfamiliar with the laws.

Super Sturdy and Long-Lasting OMG, I absolutely love this ID badge. I bought it for my Doberman Service Dog in 2006, and it has lasted and still looks very professional-- even with the hard use my dog puts it through daily.
Seriously-- we've gone through 2 harnesses in the same amount of time-- but that ID badge (though I've left it at various airports, restaurants, and other places and has so far always been returned to me, lol) just keeps on keeping on. It's accumulated a few nicks and dings along the way, but over all is still GREAT quality, professional grade all the way.

this is so helpful! On the outside, I dont look disabled. I get questioned when people see me going into stores with my seizure alert dog. It's so nice to have this clipped to the dog's collar so that he can be easily identified. And having the ADA laws is very handy, too!
