I can use the middle handle to catch my balance or to have Joker brace to help me out of a chair or off the floor.
The D ring works great with a 12 inch lead so he can pull my wheelchair with it.
Joker loves this harness and eagerly wears it. He is a Rottweiler mix.
My only complaint is the 2 D rings need to be in the front so I use the handle. In the back I do not have as much control as I would like. For me it made the handle a waste of money.
